The Drink Project is a 10th-grade cross-curricular project in which students design, test, and market their own beverage. In chemistry, they perform laboratory analysis of some of the properties of their drink and prepare a nutritional pamphlet. In English, they write a persuasive essay and prepare marketing materials. In math, they design and characterize a bottle for their drink. Humanities can also be incorporated with economic and cultural references. In a culminating event, the students prepare samples of their drinks for the rest of the student body to sample and rate at a lunch-time competition.
